We are both looking for jobs right now, and trusting God in the meantime to meet our needs. Will is 7 months old, he is weighing around 17lbs and is growing like crazy. He waves bye bye now, and his smile lights up a room. He is not to interested in crawling, but likes standing and will walk if someone holds his hands. I think he has figured out that it is faster to walk than to crawl. He is going to be a caterpillar for Halloween and we have taken a couple of pictures of him. Brent calls him the Will-apillar. We love every bit of parenthood, the good and the challenging.Becky Halehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07633875575280858810noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6256547601285314154.post-47317562603045031382008-04-28T10:31:00.002-05:002008-04-28T10:38:28.725-05:00Update on Big WillSorry we haven't blogged lately, but we both have been a little busy. Brent with working a lot and coming home and helping me, and I being up during the night and having the little one all day. Will and I are getting the hang of it though. He is doing great. He is now over 10lbs and on the average chart except in the area of height. He is now 21 1/2 inches but growing more every day. He is doing good on his schedule and is eating between 5-6 ounces every four hours or so. The last couple of nights he has gone from 7pm to 2:30 or 3:30am and then he gets up for his day at 7am. He is doing great and I haven't even started him on cereal yet. We are really proud of him and just so thankful that God has just taken care of him and is growing him stronger everyday. Will is going on his first airplane ride at the end of May, we are going to Florida for him to meet all of my family. I can tell he is very excited. I will try to do better with keeping this a little more up to date. I have discovered that sleeping in 3 hour increments do no good. For the past week he has kept us up every other night. Last night was our awake night, so I am looking forward to tonight. Even if we do manage to get him to fall asleep, it is always just in time to wake him up to eat again. It is a crazy cycle of awakeness. It is strange what you find funny at 4 in the morning while changing a diaper with your wife by your side. Beck and I have found ourselves laughing deliriously. It is kinda like when you were a kid sleeping over at a friends house, and you are supposed to be asleep but instead you are up talking, and all of a sudden something that is not even remotely funny becomes the most hysterical thing you have ever seen or heard. So i guess it is good that we can still laugh.Brent R. It has been a L O N G 11 days. As you now know Will arrived on Wednesday a full five weeks earlier than anticipated. I guess he heard how great his momma and daddy are and just could not wait to get here. It has truly be an exercise in trust, faith, and patience. God has really used this situation to change my prayers. I began to pray more and more not that God would do "this or that", but that He would change my heart to be ready and able to accept his plans. There was definatly a fear that kept poking its head in my way, but Beck and I knew that God was and is big enough and powerful enough to heal and protect.
Will is still in the NICU, but is doing great. They say that he is ahead of where he "should" be. He was born with a fighters spirit, and Beck and I both agree that he must have no idea that he is small. I had a friend say to me the other day "can you believe how much you love him?" She is so completly right. There is no word to describe how much you instantly love your child. As we were finishing up the relase paper work today, a lady came in and gave Will a new testament bible as a gift from the chaplin service. She told us that if we would like we could have someone "bless us and our child" Beck and I both know she has the absolute best intentions, but I could not help saying how blessed the three of us already are. Thank you all for your continued prayers and love. Keep praying that Will grows quickly, so he can come home soon.Brent R. I have to admit it is a little frightening when you sign on and it is counting down the days, hours, and seconds until I experience extreme pain! I do have to say we are getting pretty excited around here to welcome Will into our family. However, Brent and I have still not aggreed on a middle name for our child, so of course with Brent's fun thinking approach to life, the plan is that we will just draw a name out of a hat at the hospital once the child is born. We have narrowed the name options down to three and I guess once Will is born we will draw his middle name. Kinda crazy I know, but unless I can somehow figure out a way to convince Brent that he wants the name I want, this is the plan.

We went to the Dr. last thursday and he is growing on schedule and everything looks great. I was not real thrilled of the amount of weight I had gained but we will just have to deal with that. He has been moving quite a bit and sometimes I call him my little jumping bean because I don't know what he is doing in there, but he must be having fun. We are now going to the Dr. every two weeks and few weeks from now we will go to every week. I think that is when it is going to seem like, oh my goodness here he comes! This is really happening.

We appreciate everyones love and support and can't wait to have pictures of our little one to share.Becky Halehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07633875575280858810noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6256547601285314154.post-84921160152671320342008-01-04T12:48:00.000-06:002008-01-04T13:03:33.257-06:00Merry Christmas to an Un-Born Kid
So Christmas has come and gone, and it is now time to settle down and get ready for the next major step...The birth. But before we get there lets talk about the "haul" Will took in this Christmas. Here we have a kid who will not be born for another 2 and 1/2 months and he is already getting more things than I am. Now I have heard the resounding feedback of "Well, get used to it" and trust me I am perfectly fine with him getting tons of Christmas presents...BUT HE IS NOT EVEN BORN YET! Seriously folks, what use does an unborn child have for a dog that teaches him his colors and numbers. Now, don't get me wrong I've had a blast playing with that dog, and I have never been so good with my colors and numbers. I appreciate the review in kindergarten education, but Will could not care less at this point. We have decided that to fix this situation, we will simply re-wrap all that he got this year to give to him next year, and for those of you who gave him the wonderful presents, we thank you, but next year when Christmas comes all your wonderful gifts will be under the tree for Will and the from tag will read "Mommy and Daddy". That's right we are hijacking your gifts to use for our own. Of course I say all of this mostly in jest. We truly do appreciate your gifts to Will. Heck, I bought him 4 or 5 things myself. Thanks, and I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, and a fantastic New Year.
Brent R. If it's not her getting up to go to the bathroom, it's me. The past couple of nights I have had a headache and have been unable to get any good sleep. It seems that just when I get comfortable and am about to go off to sleep, Becky has to roll over or move, and suddenly I am right back awake. I was so excited to see that I have my very own blog. Heck, I'm not even born yet, and already I am so very computer savvy. I have decided that I am going to post here from time to time just to let everyone know how I am doing.

I am growing bigger each day. It's kinda neat in here, but I am sure that when the time is right I will be more than ready to come out and play. Mommy and Daddy have been talking to me through Mommies belly. I always laugh when Daddy calls me "Little Willy" and Mommy gets mad at him. Mommy is cool, and she takes good care of me. I can't wait to meet her. I think me and her are gonna have a good time together. She is always telling me what size fruit or vegetable I am. I think that is strange. I am not a fruit or vegetable, I am a boy. She can be crazy sometimes. But no matter how crazy she is, Daddy is far more crazy. I think I am going to like these people.

Brent R. It only took us (Me and Becky's Dad) 2 hours to put together. Let me encourage you to never buy a crib at a garage sale without checking out all the screws. Some of them may be stripped, thus making it extremely difficult to put together. Needless to say we got it together, and it only took a minimum amount of urban enginering. Which I think is appropriate for something called a "Crib". I would also like to brag that neither one of us got mad and threw anything, or anyone. Anyway, Becky's mom and dad bought the crib for us, so that was an awesome blessing. It looked so cozy, but Becky would not let me sleep in it no matter how big of a fit I threw. We think Will will like it.
Brent R. Take a look for yourself at our little man. Things are going great. We have the crib put together, and it only took about 2 hours of frustrating labor with Becky's dad and myself. We bought it at a garage sale, and we had no instructions, and a stripped screw, that was not going to be removed easily. But, by the grace of God, we got it up. Lets just hope it doesn't come crashing to the floor when we place Will in it.

Brent R.
